Here is where the conversation is spiked. Context. Context. Context. As one really smart person has said it, “A text without context is just a pretext for saying whatever one wants.” Well put Ben Witherington III. And it’s true. So very true. Let’s peel back the words and get after the context. When was this written? Where was this written? By whom? To whom? It all matters, because it wasn't written to us, but it most certainly can be for us. So we study and ask questions and wrestle with the text… together. And then we listen, which is what you can do here.
