Be Here

As we hit the two week mark within the Lenten journey, I find myself getting a little squirmy. I can’t pinpoint what it is, but I feel the urge to want to speed up or just simply jump into the future.

This awakens me to the need for a few deep breaths, and then… just… be… here.

This day has never been, and it will never be again, so I don’t want to simply run through it. The people before me, the stunning conversations that can only be if I am fully present, they can’t unfold unless I am here.

Which is true for you as well. The person next to you or in front of you or waiting behind you, they are an incredible cocktail of spirit and mystery. They need you to be present, and to not miss what is… here.

It’s Wednesday, we are craning are gaze toward the end of the week and trying to push past the beginning of the week, but we can only, actually, be here.

Deep breaths. Be present. We have now, and now is good.
